Cortana’s face is a reflection of Miranda Keye’s own. Coding runs up and down the length of her body as she stares out towards Earth.
She takes in the planet in ways Miranda will never comprehend. And in the same way, Miranda will take in that planet in ways that Cortana never will.
But they both stare at it with the same shared look that their mother once had.
It is the same expression she held, now on both their faces.
And in the reflection of the thick glass panels, it is Halsey that stares back.
